'Tarikh-i-Mubarak Shahi', written by Yahya bin Ahmad Sirhindi, is the only contemporary source that provides a detailed history of the Sayyid Dynasty.

Khizr Khan was succeeded by his son, Mubarak Shah, in 1421 AD. Unlike his father, he assumed the title of Sultan.
