If a person receives a 10% raise but the general price level also increases by 10%, their purchasing power remains unchanged. Believing they are wealthier in this scenario is a cognitive bias known as money illusion or inflation illusion.

A subculture is a group within a larger culture that shares distinct values, beliefs, or behaviors that differentiate them from the dominant society. While 'American' and 'French' refer to broad national cultures, 'Kiwi culture' (referring to New Zealanders) is often categorized as a distinct subculture or national identity within the global context. Subcultures provide members with a sense of identity and belonging while still existing within the framework of a larger societal structure.

The assumption that humans are always rational maximizers is a simplification often used in classical models but contradicted by behavioral economics. Humans are subject to cognitive biases, emotional influences, and heuristic-based decision-making. Therefore, claiming individuals are 'always' rational is factually incorrect, as real-world behavior frequently deviates from the strict utility-maximizing framework.
