The Markhor (Capra falconeri) is the national animal of Pakistan. Its name is derived from the Persian words 'Mar' (snake) and 'Khor' (eater), based on a local legend that it kills and eats snakes, though it is actually a herbivore. It is found in the rugged mountains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan. The Markhor is also used as the official symbol of Pakistan's premier intelligence agency, the ISI.

Hina Rabbani Khar was appointed as Pakistan's 21st Foreign Minister in 2011 at the age of 33, making her both the first female and the youngest person to hold the post. She represented Pakistan on the global stage during a complex diplomatic period. The 2022 amendment to the Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act was a major step forward. Following the catastrophic 2022 floods, both federal and provincial governments, with international aid, have built 'Resilient Model Villages'. These villages feature solar power, schools, and climate-resistant houses, serving as a comprehensive social welfare and rehabilitation model for disaster-affected populations.

Managed by the Ministry of Human Rights, this center is the first of its kind in Pakistan. it serves as a dedicated space where transgender individuals can seek protection from harassment, receive vocational training, and access specialized healthcare in a dignified environment.
